Motorcycle tour of Sicily (to the boot of Europe)
Day 1 (Through Tuscany)

Our tour starts about 50 km south of Genoa. The first section winds along the coast through many breathtaking tunnels. Then we head into the mountains. The road goes up and down, offering fantastic views of the sea and the idyllic little villages along the coast. Eventually, we reach a notorious mountain road popular with motorcyclists, especially on weekends when many locals ride. Unfortunately, we then encounter some traffic through small and larger villages before being enveloped by the mountains once again. We climb to over 1000 meters through a marble quarry, stopping frequently to admire the views of the stone pits. At the top of the pass, there's a snack bar. Afterwards, we descend towards Siena, riding through Tuscany, a region characterized by small villages and quintessential Tuscan scenery. You could easily spend two days exploring each of these charming Tuscan villages by motorcycle (Volterra or San Gimignano, for example). We'll bypass Siena, but it would be worth a detour, as you can ride your motorcycle directly to the beautiful and picturesque Campo square. We continue on and settle in near a thermal spring where we can relax in the 38-degree water this evening.
