General:
Coming to Montenegro from Bosnia, Croatia, or Serbia, you might think you're entering Austria or Slovenia. Everything here has a very Western feel; even the euro is the currency. In the hinterland, there are magnificent mountains, where many hikers roam in the summer. A paradise for off-road drivers with off-road vehicles, enduros, or touring enduros.
Country and People:
Montenegro has a population of approximately 650,000; most people live in the cities, which makes the mountains mostly lonely. There are a few major paved roads, but they are often small mountain roads. The cities are bustling. People are helpful, mostly speak English, and occasionally German. In the larger villages in the mountain regions, people live from tourism; there are many hiking trails and the Tara Gorge, which offers many recreational activities.

Safety:
We've been to Montenegro several times; there may be thefts by the sea in the summer, as it's overcrowded with tourists. We've never heard of it in the interior.
Overnight/Accommodation:
In Montenegro, there are usually hotels or guesthouses in the larger villages, with prices ranging from €15 to €80 depending on the category. There are also nice campsites starting at €8 per night.

Travel Time:
You can go off-roading here 8 months a year, from April to November. July, August, and September are the best times, as the mountains are snow-free and the weather is guaranteed to be good.

Traffic:
There's a lot of traffic in the cities, but it gets lonely outside.
Food and Drink:
There aren't too many restaurants or pubs along the way, as tourism is still in its infancy. Vehicles:
